Some other Silver Age favorites in my collection.  Superman 157 was the first Silver Age issue I bought - my original copy cost me $1.50 in 1986.  This copy I bought on ebay a couple years back.

The cover of 149 is a stone cold classic. In fact, the whole issue is a classic. It is, without a doubt, my favourite DC book.

For real. And such an un-Silver Age story.  A total downer.

141 and 149 are two of the most iconic Silver Age Superman stories, if not the two top ones. I still have to get a copy of 149. My big complaint about the 141 story is that it ends too abruptly. That's the price you pay for fixed format comic books. If it was published in Newspaper, there would be no such problem.

A rendition of the story was published in the newspaper comic strip between August 18th and November 12th,  1960. It’s reprinted in Superman: The Silver Age Dailies 1959-61. I should also mention that this version includes gorgeous Curt Swan art!

November 1967, the cover seems a bit more like early 60's than late.

February 1961

Superman 207 is a sentimental favorite of mine.  Got that as a birthday present one year.

Fabulous color design!  I had never paid attention to this cover before.
