Book is rock solid at staples, which are clean. Minor spine roll not evident in photos, a small tear on the upper left cover at Thor's head, dirt along reverse spine, some chipping lower back cover.

Any help is appreciated. Looks like a great book, not sure if I can express or will need to Walkthrough...

Looks to me like you might have a small tear or something along the bottom edge in the center and it goes at least into the title page. Standard C&P recommendation, with those 3 tears/chips, I have this at a 7.0±0.5. Very sharp looking :takeit: and it's just a matter of whether those 3 defects are deemed minor or moderate. My 2¢ is that you could get this through express. My understanding is that if they deem a book to been in too low a tier, they'll bump the fee up anyway. I've never had a walkthrough book (I'm not 100% sure how they calculate FMV b/c my some of my express books price out above $3K in comparable sales). The listed price of 3% of FMV with $150 minimum means you need the FMV to be $5K or over to reach $150. I'm positive this one isn't a >9.0, so your grading fee is either $130 or $150. The turnaround time is 3 days vs. 5. I'd try express and at worst, you have to give them $20, but miss out on getting it back 2 days sooner than if you'd paid the full amount up front. $20 is $20. If you use CCS pressing, the turnaround is the same, but you would save $50 by being in express not walkthrough, which would be the best reason to pick one over the other.

Spine roll versus stacking curl, eh?  hm   A spine roll is caused by successively wrapping each page about the spine as you read the book.  A stacking curl is not caused by handling/reading; rather, it develops as a result of incorrect storage.  Comic books are slightly thicker along the spine than along the opposite/unbound edge.  When several unboarded books are stacked with their spines aligned, the difference in height between the spine side and the open side will rapidly become noticeable to even an untrained eye.  This difference in height/thickness eventually causes the books to develop a mild curl along the spine.  If a book is otherwise high grade, this defect may merit a small grade deduction.  Fortunately, a mild stacking curl can normally be eliminated with a proper pressing.  :foryou:
