Kortoga
Good question. Doesn't look like anyone wants to answer. So here goes. Only the comic books people want to buy in the future. if we knew that, then we would buy them. And if you knew that, you would not tell anyone. If you want to make money, here is a list of comics you cant miss > 5. Batman #500, anniversary issue, great cover with silver foil, really valuable for collector! 4. ASM vol.2 #1, what could be best than a new number 1 to make profits? 3. Death of Superman, one of the greatest event in comics history, in the 90s they were all spoke of it trough the media. 2. Cable #1, The debut of a new hero in his own title, with gold foil cover, really popular in the hobby. 1. No hesitation, same argument that Spiderman but here in addition you get an absolutely wonderful art by one of the greatest talent: MR Rob Liefeld. Hope it helped aardvark88

Hope it helped I have to disagree, as all of these are often found in $5 or less discount bins at comic shows and are extremely common.
Ken Aldred
Any new collector should experience the same learning curves and ups-and-downs that we veterans experienced, without being sheltered and spoon-fed by comfortable, easy short cuts. All part of the journey. Edited May 15 by Ken Aldred LowGradeBronze and Coverdeath 1

RobHW
I wouldn't use any collectible as a vehicle for ROI. That's what the stock market is for. Coverdeath

Do you know more about comics or the stock market? Some of the best advice I've received is to invest in things you know, understand, and use. I've made more money from comics than Wall Street, although that is no longer true. The comics BA recommended all have one thing in common- fifty years from now, they will all be fifty years older. If you are looking for a decent ROI, I'd stick with pre-1965, Marvels with art by Kirby or Ditko. I see no reason why they won't have solid returns for the next decade or three. LowGradeBronze
The idea of taking up comic collecting from scratch, right now, purely with a view to making money is a ship that has sailed. And it sailed quite some time ago. The 8 year old me was attracted by the colours, the art, the action! He wasn't thinking of money, other than "how the hell do I get enough money to buy these? I want them all...." Edited June 28 by LowGradeBronze Coverdeath and Readcomix

That's as ludicrous as suggesting comics are the best source of wealth-building since the invention of sliced beer. LowGradeBronze
LowGradeBronze
@shadroch Not at all, just that you'd need deep pockets to get among the real money books right now, if you were a brand-newbie starting out. I freely admit to having zero money making skills where comics are concerned. I'm in it for fun, and if any of my books are now worth more than I could ever afford to pay for them now, well that was just good luck on my part for hanging onto them for so long! But sliced beer! You may be onto something there, especially for bus journeys on our pot-holed roads! Edited June 28 by LowGradeBronze Coverdeath

Some people do very well churning out dollar books. LowGradeBronze
