4.5 seems right to me. Structurally the book looks sound. Grader's notes confirm that and even with the partially detached staple the book's biggest issue is major foxing which CGC isn't all that tough on, IMO. Plus it's a mega-key GA so a little bump is to be expected.

I wonder if CGC grades this book on a curve?

It's virtually non-existent in high grade with only 4 certified Universal copies in the VF range and none higher.

They'll grade on a curve with common manufacturing defects...
