Popular Post Wrightson fan
I no longer collect comics and have sold almost everything I owned. I used to live on these boards, and one of the first people I met off the boards was Thomas. We made plans to meet up at Wizard World Texas. I think the year was 2008. I took some high grade FF’s with me as I knew he would probably want to buy them, and he did. I went around with him as he tried to find a nice early FF, that he could afford. If memory serves, I think he wanted the first Impossible Man. I cannot remember if he got it, but I remember him looking at a copy that Richard Evans had. Thomas had an innocent enthusiasm about the books that interested him in his early days on the boards. I saw him at all of the Texas shows for the next few years after that, and had the occasional meal. Over those years, I sold him quite a few more books. We always got along well and would chat several times a week. When I left the hobby, I pretty much did it cold turkey. That meant not coming onto the boards anymore. With that decision, I lost contact with a lot of good people. One of those people was Thomas. When I saw the post on CGC’s Facebook page today, it made me really sad. Even though we had not spoken in years, I feel that if we did, we would have picked right back up where we left off. Thomas was a good man. He was a good guy for the hobby. We are all a little poorer today because of his passing. I hope for peace for his wife and children. I also hope they know that people really respected their husband and dad. Rest in Peace, Thomas. Thomas was a good guy, this has been so heavy on my mind since the news was posted. I genuinely feel so bad for his family and they seem like such wonderful people, it truly is such a horrible feeling knowing they have to experience such a loss. I don't know what I can contribute at this time, but feel that I have to help somehow. We have lost another great contributor to this community and while my interactions with Thomas were limited I know we had many great nights in the old Emoji wars days which kind of ended with @greggy and his spam of strawberry shortcake. The people we meet and deal with here are not just an avatar, many of us have developed deep friendships over the years (others have done the exact opposite through their actions...) there are many people here that I treasure as friends if not family, others that I just am so excited when I do see and you would think we were long lost relatives. The point of my ramble here is this @Mrs.djpinkpanther your husband was well loved and respected here, I know there are so many people who are deeply saddened by this news. But maybe, in some way you can find a little ease in knowing that even outside of his daily routine there were so many other people whos lives he touched and that his hobby was another community in which he was loved and showed so many others love. He was a good man, and I am very sorry for your loss. Rest In Paradise. skypinkblu, Wrightson fan, Beastfeast and 15 others 15
Popular Post PovertyRow
Still recovering form hand surgery so I've been board shy. Just saw this yesterday. There are some people on the boards, when you see their name, you automatically smile, even if you have not had a lot of interaction with them. The name DJPinkpanther67 was one of those.
