Help me make a decision on a ASM 129 1 1

Hi everyone, 

Hoping that I can get some input to help me make a final decision on buying a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #129. I found two copies, in the same grade, at the same price. 

Copy A is the first three photos with the grader notes beneath and it has white pages.

Copy B is the last two photos with the grader notes beneath and it has off-white pages. 

I'm not looking to flip the book, it will be for my personal collection and only sold down the line if I can upgrade at some point. 

So which Copy would you choose and why?

I’d get A just for the nicer wrap if all else is equal.

I think A presents better overall, and has better page quality.  It looks like it would be a 6.0-6.5 without that nasty chip out, while the other one looks more raggedy in general, with an overall appearance much more in line with its grade.

It’s a close call but I’d go for B. Rip in A is distracting.

I think the piece missing on copy A will be an eyesore, the same way the miswrap on copy B will be.

Personally, I would just look for different copies in the desired grade range, as both have detrimental defects that I think would be a hard sell later on, unless they are at a bargain of a price.

Thank you everyone.  I was leaning away from the copy A as although the rest of the cover looks great and it has white pages, my eyes keep getting drawn towards the rip. I was sort of going to go with copy B but some of you made some good points so I may keep looking for another copy in that grade.

I’d go with A. The piece out doesn’t bother me.

Yeah, my budget is around $1,200 so that gorgeous 8.0 is out of my price range. The 3.0 looks good but these two copies I posted pics of are actually 4.5s and the price probably won't be too far off from the final Hammer price on that 3.0.

There are several auctions on ebay as well including an 8.0 white like above that will probably close around 2k.  If that's too steep there's a 5.5 white as well that will probably end up in the 1300 range.  I'd go for that over the ones above.

If it has to be one of these two, I’d go B. I think the missing piece is worse than a miswrap, and I’m also concerned about the note about a staple tear in A. That’s the kind of thing that could worsen if a shift occurs within the slab for any reason.

I'd wait for another copy.  If I had to pick, I'd pick copy A.  The wrap on B is unacceptable.

I'd definitely go for 'B' out of the two presented, but honestly, I'd be looking for a third option. I could live with 'B' though, at the end of the day.

A looks sharper but that rip…ugh no thanks
