Cover color is always the top priority with me, after obvious stuff like completeness. 

Here are a few I really like color-wise.

As others have mentioned, the FH colors are often faded, especially orange (great copies of Planet 26 and Rangers 26!).  Planet 54 is almost always yellowed out.  Jungle 14 has great color strike too.  And this APC is the best looking Baker book I own and practically gleams in hand..

I got this no-name Fawcett war book for somewhere around $20-30 because I liked both the design and the reds and yellows of the palette. I know it's not a prime example of pre-code war, but I'm surprised war comics with nice covers like this are still so cheap.

Ironic, isn't it, that Fiction House covers, so often faded, frequently relied on color as a compositional element?

As far as I can tell, its all about that final layer of magenta in CMYK printing - perhaps it ran out mid-print run, and perhaps only the first few copies in the print run had saturated colors as the colorist intended.I doubt we'll ever know for certain.
