The Land Of Terror by Edgar Rice Burroughs      Ace F-256    1st PB, 1st Print.         January 1964        $40

Incredible Lost World flood cover by Frank Frazetta.  One of my favorites. The first copy of this 1st I've had to offer.

Very Fine almost VF/NM. Unread with great color and gloss. Razor sharp corners. No wear. Has a super light pressure mark on the cover and a color fleck on lower right corner. Nice  page quality. Looks like it was on the rack 59 years ago. Well worth a premium.

Dead heat, lol. J/k

what time you thinking tomorrow?

If I can beat my old lady (to waking up lol) I plan to get a few in in the morning then get it going in the afternoon (EST - I'm starting to get used to think about what time it is for the West Coast folks!)

The Sherlock Holmes Pocket Book by A. Conan Doyle      Pocket Books 95     Scarce 1st Print       February 1941     $25

If you know Pocket's, you know. Very hard to find 1st Prints of the early editions. One of the most collected early titles for obvious reasons.

Not very high grade but a nicely presenting copy of a book that is extremely difficult to find any better than this due to multiple issues, age (82!), papery lamination,, hard cardboard covers etc. etc.

Very Good. Solid and square, everything tight, retains plenty of gloss. The thin lamination is mostly present but has the usual lifts, losses and tears. Soiling on the back cover. Bright white pages. The lack of hard creases makes this remain nice looking from the front.

Because of work I bomb more times that not on missing stuff in sales threads here. Always happy to get anything. I completely missed out on the first 3 threads here on paperbacks. So for every thread I get lucky on there are 9 more I missed…:tonofbricks:

Also I don’t collect the good girl stuff and honestly have a hard time getting into those early Frazetta paperbacks for the most part. His stuff around the Lancer Conan started kicking in for me but some of that earlier work was shall I say it…to pedestrian for me…when compared to his later work.

Every artist has their strong and their weak days. For all the incredible slim babes McGinnis painted, he also painted this hag, who I didn't have the chutzpah to list for sale. I may throw her on someone's pile just to get her out of my house lol  CLAIMED by crassus
