He's one of those 'elites', and not in the traditional meaning of the word, as having superior qualities in a particular area.  Privileged upbringing, wealthy family in his youth, Ivy League education, filthy rich and lives for money, flies everywhere in private jets, and acts above the law.  That type of 'elite'.  You know, the ones lots of folks have taken to ridicule and denigrate.  But they also like some of his ideology and so give him a free pass despite being one of the most elite 'elites' on the planet.

Old Time Hawkey lives in the upper peninsular of Michigan, so he is basically Canadian. 

I once shoveled out my stuck car in a snow storm. Goalie sticks are my Frank's hot sauce, but are still best on hacking behind knees and ankles of crease infringers.
