However, if your goal is making money, CGC certification (with or without pressing) may be a losing proposition. SME #15 has recently been bringing $200~400 in the encapsulated CGC 7.5~8.0 range. But your up-front cost to obtain that CGC grade will be $70~$130 (depending on whether the book gets pressed and/or goes the "fast track" route). In addition, there's a good chance this specimen gets certified as having cream to off-white pages (which will make realizing the high end of the stated valuation range improbable/unlikely). If it was my book, I'd probably try to sell it raw, as I've never been a big fan of allowing others to lay claim to 30~50% of my profit.
