richATTK
Also found in a storage unit, posting to see if it's worth sending to press and grade. Edited October 15, 2023 by richATTK
scburdet
The discoloration probably knocks this down from VF/NM/NM- to 7.5/8.0. I feel the lower b/c of hos they seem to be treating this type of defect now. richATTK
grendelbo
I'd call the book pretty excellent except for the Tan to OW pages. I'm thinking 8.0/8.5 after a press. Thanks for posting. richATTK

However, if your goal is making money, CGC certification (with or without pressing) may be a losing proposition. SME #15 has recently been bringing $200~400 in the encapsulated CGC 7.5~8.0 range. But your up-front cost to obtain that CGC grade will be $70~$130 (depending on whether the book gets pressed and/or goes the "fast track" route). In addition, there's a good chance this specimen gets certified as having cream to off-white pages (which will make realizing the high end of the stated valuation range improbable/unlikely). If it was my book, I'd probably try to sell it raw, as I've never been a big fan of allowing others to lay claim to 30~50% of my profit. One man's opinion, naturally. thehumantorch, richATTK and grendelbo

joeypost
If you do get it pressed make sure it goes to someone competent. That book has a lot of tanning and in the wrong hands an improper press could result in a grade drop. zzutak, grendelbo and thehumantorch
