Now sit up straight. This is War 7, Jan 1953 Pretty gruesome cover, Our Heroes are about to die a violent death. I don't see too many of these Standard Comics war issues, and they seem to sell pretty well when I do find them. Small split upper spine, bit of general wear. The black cover displays quite well. Can't speak to how the stateside military bases worked, but overseas there was usually a "Stars and Stripes" bookstore separate from the PX/BX. Comics were sold here, as well as books, magazines and the Stars and Stripes daily newspaper. All these materials were stamped at time of sale before they went out the door, in lieu of a register receipt.
