Also expect a hefty dose of the Fantast pedigree collection to be broken out at this show and the main show they do in May.  There aren't a lot of national dealers left at motor city, and even less at the fall show, but between Harley and the other dealers that have Fantast books it might be worth it.  Plus Lange Sports (ebay zillaf4, a known tight grader on the boards much like MCS) has been doing blowout booths with even wall books at steep discounts.  Unfortunately Roger Peterson, owner of collector zone, passed away this summer.  Roger's booth was known to nearly all attendees as the spot to get some TREMENDOUS deals in his dollar and 5 dollar boxes.  When @catrick339 was still doing this show and splitting with Roger, they would be my first stop every year and I would usually buy a long box between the two of them.  Roger's daughter has been running shows with his stock but I'm not sure if she will be there.

Quick note for any Michigan boardies and instead of doing a separate thread I'll just drop it here...... I forgot that Grand Rapids comic con is this weekend.  I can't make it this year but if anyone has any details on the show I would love to hear about that one as well.

@SkOw

How was the show?! Pics?

Surprisingly better than I thought!   That said, folks just have to come in with realistic expectations.  Motor City USED to be like Baltimore and Heroes, but has gone the way of the pop culture con, and the fall show is about 2/3 the size of the spring show they do, at least for now.  It wasn't as good as the May show, but it wasn't the drek fest I thought it could be.  Bought some bigger books at good prices and some art at good prices.  Next time I will try to take pictures but it is hard for me as I get distracted but comics and good looking women.  lol

Oddly, the last time I posted on the CGC Forums was after I went to the Motor City Comic Con in May.

Just went on the Friday with my kid. For comics, it was mainly local dealers who set up. Harley Yee had a booth but didn't see Harley. Todd Lange, one of my favourites, was listed in the program but couldn't find him on the floor at all. I normally check out Roger's booth (Collector's Zone) but was sad to learn in this thread that he'd passed away! Very friendly man whom I bought many books from over the years, including last May.

No big keys were purchased but I did fill some gaps in my collection from newer dealers to "MC3", like Karl & Frank's Comics. Fun guys to deal with.

Over the past year, my son has become a HUGE fan of the Flash, both the comics and television series. He was the one who was pushing to go to this show. So instead of me dragging my boy to a comic show; he's dragging me! He was on a mission to find the first appearance of the "Reverse Flash" and get it signed by Tom Cavanagh, who was one of the celebrity guests. There were only two copies of Flash #139 on the floor, at the same price, and he settled on the one that was slabbed - good choice. He bought it from a local guy, Pop'n'Comics or Morse Comics... I believe.

And I have to say, Tom Cavanagh treated my kid like gold. It was my son's birthday and, after learning that, Cavanagh came out of his booth, spent extra time talking to him, and even got Danielle Panabaker "Killer Frost" to wish him a happy birthday. For him, it was a special experience.
