Hot Stuff from Steve Mannion

Love Steve's work - I had to have a piece featuring all sorts of things that I like: money, skulls, knives, guns and sleazy strippers in striped stockings. Was never sure why the swastika was on that knife, but everything else is pretty cool.

Awesome!   Is that from the early Eros book, Christina winters or something like that?

Christina Winters, Agent of Death #3 - the hardest issue to find of the run! I've been trying to find a printed example of the page since I bought it.

Dang I didn't know there was a #3!

Steve used to live relatively close to me and I would stop by to see what he had cooking.  I have lots of Steve's art that isn't on CAF.

various art and sketches/commissions: https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=32154

The Tales from the Crypt covers and Wally Wood homage are awesome!

All the best Mannions seem to live at Will’s place!

My favorite Mannion art on CAF that isn't found in my collection.

I like the favorites feature.   I think Bill Cox mentioned that he wanted to remove it but it was getting enough usage that they ended up keeping it.

I dedicated 2023 to posting unpublished art / sketches.  I guess I'll dedicate 2024 to posting more of Steve's art.

Fun and sexy is the best way to describe Mannion's work. I purchased this piece as a Christmas gift to myself after having the worst year of my life. Steve's work never fails to make me smile. Have a look. Mannion

First of all, your "Hot Stuff" piece is I think my favorite ever work of Steve's. Congrats!

Secondly, I'm going to add my own art here when I get home from work!

Here is a sketch cover I bought from one of Steve's auctions. The fella does fantastic sketch covers. He doesn't phone them in the way some artists do.

Boy, you're not kidding. All of his sketch covers are nicely executed. I've been caught looking at them many times.

Sketch covers (and basic con sketches) are two of the things that some artists cheap out on, right?

You can tell who devotes a decent chunk of time, and who fires one out in 3 minutes.

I find it to be a good way to measure an artist's "integrity" outside of the publishing world.

If an artist does a good sketch cover, you know their other commissions will be great too. But it doesn't always work the other way!
