Just checking in. Nothing much to report, but I have got two X-Men omnibuses on the go at once, just to confuse myself. 

I'm at 1090 books, made up mostly of single issues, half the Hourman run, Deadpool Epic Collection volume 2 (which contains the start of Joe Kelly's iconic run, without whom there'd be no Deadpool as we know him, yet they based the bloody video game on Daniel Way's run, ugh).

Some more of the Supergirl issues, some silly, others pretty good.

Batman - Legends of the Dark Knight 55-57, 64-79
Batman 343
Detective 481-486
Continuing my Batman reading, nothing stands out with these.

Green Lantern 164-200
Finished off the Silver Age series thru the end of Crisis. Hal was kinda all over the place in those days, and that Star Sapphire thing was just nuts.

Sandman Vol 7 5-9
Hey, it's Sandman, need I say more? Okay, fine. Finished off Brief Lives, my kids are saying it might be their favorite storyline so far, and I might have to agree. Delirium was just great, and Dream kinda warmed up.

Catwoman Lonely City 1-4
Cliff Chiang was a guest at the Baltimore Comic Con, so my daughter and I read this before so we could talk to him about it. Wow, just wow - I don't think this book could have been any more perfect. And the man did everything for it - written, drawn, lettered, colored, the whole shebang. Just wow. Read it, seriously. The best Batman related book I've read in a long time.

Star Trek Picard's Academy 1-6
Also written by a Baltimore guest, Sam Maggs. She couldn't have been nicer or more enthusiastic, I wish I had liked the book more than I did. Not that I disliked it, it was a decent effort, but it was also a rough assignment.

Masterpiece 1-6
I rather enjoyed this series from Brian Michael Bendis. Found I am kinda hit-or-miss on Bendis' work, this one was pretty good. An interesting twist on the ole caper story, if you like that stuff, this is one to try.

Gun Honey Collision Course 1-4
What can be said about the Gun Honey series that hasn't already been said? If you liked the previous offerings, you'll like this one, too.

Space Ghost 1-5
I'm 62, so there's no way I was going to skip this title - when I was a little kid I split open a couple cardboard toilet paper rolls and made my own Power Bands. But when I saw it was written by David "Spencer and Locke" Pepose that sealed the deal. A 21st Century reimagining of the characters, with them updated without losing too much of the original flair (Space Ghost himself is a little too grim-and-gritty for me, but has been showing signs of loosening up). Worth a read for fans of the character and/or the writer.

That's it for now, a nice even 💯 for the month, give or take a day or two. So, that gets us to 900 for the year.

Finally finished X-Men Revolution Omnibus, and an assortment of single issues far too long to write out (but heavily featuring Green Lantern, Transformers, and Uncanny X-Men), and I've just hit 1132 for the year. I'm taking a break now as I've got a couple of 'real' novels to knock down. 

One thing is very clear. My pacing has declined with the loss of my Chloe. Data confirms it. Interesting little stat, as my habits are the same.

I decided to read the complete run of 2010s Daredevil comics by one of my favourite writers, Mark Waid.

Daredevil (2011 series) 1 to 10, and 10.1, 11 to 36

Daredevil (2014 series) 1 to 18, and 15.1

No complaints. Up to his usual high and consistent standards.

56 comics

My all-time fave - for a deeply weird comic, it's not hard for people to get into, I think mostly because for it's oddness, it's got a very human heart.
