Awesome book. Have you checked the spine and upper left corner for color touch? I don't know for sure either way, but it just looks improbably jet black and crisp, with not even a tiny color flake out of place. (Notably, the other three edges have some bits of color loss.)

The spine does look especially clean.  I don't think it even has a dent or crease on the spine at all.  I'll take a closer look at it and post more pictures tonight.  Ty

Cool! Unless you find evidence of restoration -- hopefully not -- it does look like a great book to have slabbed if you're so inclined.

This tough black cover has many telltale signs.  I do see a chip and thumb crease on the right edge.  It is 8.5.
