a guy in my union (set lighting) fell out of the perms today on set of "Wonderman" and died 0

It is very sad. it gets dangerous up there especially when rushed (to save time and money) which is all the time. 

Wonder what federal investigation will reveal? Who knows, maybe he was goofing around and fell.

Chances are very good this guy was busting his butt, working impossible hours and cutting corners (and if he didn't cut corners to save time and complained, he would be fired) so someone "above the line" could make more money.

No, you don't have to wear a harness while on the cat walks because it's suppose to be safe with solid wood walkways, knee rails, and hand rails

If that is true then OSHA will be all over them, and if OSHA fines them for work place safety then the civil lawsuit has as extremely good chance of making them pay.
