  This thread is for all the times someone has asked "Any comic book shops in...?"  

 

It's simple.  Find the place you're headed to and open the spoiler under it.  If the store has a website I've added a link (click on the store name).

If there's a LCS or store that sells comics that's not listed or another thread that's been started -  post the information (or link) and it will eventually be added.  Also, any suggestions to improve the thread works as well.

For an example - I started with Washington.

Great idea for a thread. I was going to post about an upcoming work trip to Paris and Ediburgh ( I did in the water cooler but minimal traction) so maybe you should increase the scope? Is your thought to take the info posted in other threads and create a knowledge base here?

Yes, we have folks from around the world so I used location in the title.  Everyone uses Google but if you're like me I'd rather know about stores that have back issues.  Also, I'm jealous as my recent work trip was in the US (Paris and Edinburg sounds pretty cool for a work trip).

Our parent company is just outside Paris and strangely I've never investigated any shops in or around that area. I haven't been since the end of 2018 due to Covid and budget related travel restrictions. I'm extending my trip a few days to explore Ediburgh for a little golf and hopefully comics. I'll add some Massachuetts based shops in a separate response in this thread.

For shops outside the US, it might be worth gleaning some info from the old Society of International Comics Collectors forum.  I posted most of the reference material on the site, with my impressions if I went to the store in person.

Thanks for pointing this out - I didn't know this existed.  What would be the best place for this?  I could check each country and see if the site works.  I checked Canada and that site did not come up.  I also checked Sweden and its not in english.

For many of them, I initially searched through Google Maps and then checked the posted photos to see what kind of inventory they had on display, if they had their own website, etc.  For some I could read or bluff my way through the language barrier, but for several I had to use the Google Translate built-in to Chrome.

I still regret we couldn't seem to find a way to get the SICC word out, even as international editions became more and more accepted throughout collecting.  There are websites and references from lots of countries, including indexes and guides to a country's publishing history.  At least it's still online so may find its audience yet.

Massachusetts can be looked at in three general areas. Locals may argue otherwise as we have the north shore, south shore, Cape Cod, and the New Bedford area that encompasses the larger Boston area.
