Hmmmmm. So a few buyers paid $50-$250 for a $0.25 comic that was as common as spit just because it was encased in plastic and had a number on it? Well like they say "You can never go broke underestimating the intelligence of (at least) some buyers.

There is a shop in the San Fernando valley that sold 50 cents comics in the back of the shop.  They buy overstock books from other dealers and would sometimes blow out their books when they need to clear out their inventory.  They had long box specials that were $60 per long box.  That's how I was able to get these cheap.  They had a long box of Batman #457 for $60 that I passed on, which I regret not buying.

2020-2022 were crazy times for speculators and I was happy to supply them with slabbed 25 cents comics.

I quoted the wrong issue in the GPA data.  I sold my books in 2018 and into 2019.  Census number is pretty substantial.

That's how I bought it a long time ago. Looks legit to me. I remember not even seeing the signature when I bought it, only realizing it had one when I began to read the book later.
