Popular Post KCOComics
Honestly, I would be more concerned if you weren't actively involved in the community. I'm just happy to see you posting! I feel like you've earned the benefit of the doubt around here and it's unfortunate anyone would question your integrity. Fair question. I always considered you people to be friends, so I'll spell things out. I'm still unable to work, trouble standing and walking, but doable, with difficulty, for periods. I'm out of work still, and don't seem to be improving any longer. Getting disability is still not guaranteed. They won't even begin the application process until July. In the meantime, I'm getting early Social Security, which is about $1400 a month, and not quite enough to make ends meet, so I decided to sell books part time, which is about all I can do, to help make ends meet. Trust me, I'm not living large. I don't have much of a life left, and to be honest, I do continue to buy the occasional PB or HC, and they aren't that expensive if I sell off something else. I just sit here most of the time and looked forward to the little bit of interaction on the boards to keep the walls from closing in. The two larger purchases from October are on layaway and intended for others in their final disposition. I suppose I can do a lot less posting, if that bothers some of you. . Thanks again, for bringing it to my attention. I appreciate it. It's always best to know. I had no idea there were members who felt that way about me, but I'm a grown up and realize I won't always be everyone's cup of tea. I'll always value your friendship. Sorry again, for any confusion I may have caused. I would give almost anything to be able to work again. GOD BLESS ... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Haven’t always been around the boards to see what transpires here but for me you are at the top for favorite boardies here. Cman429
I’m also on workers comp and occasionally get the judgy “you’re buying COMICS?! with that money!?!?” tsk tsking from nosy Karens like anyone is living like a king on disability. So I identify with selling off two things to offset any one decent size purchase. It’s unfortunate people can’t mind their business. Best to you and your recovery Jimbo and don’t pay anyone else no mind! It stinks when people create value judgments around how people choose to spend their money when in a disadvantageous position. What, Jimbo should live the life of a monk and forego all pleasures because he isn't able to work for medical reasons? Absolutely abysmal point of view. jimjum12, lizards2, Readcomix and 3 others

Popular Post Eric Perry
@jimjum12 We don't know each other; however, I wanted to offer a few words of understanding and encouragement. I had a stroke in 2016. Life changed significantly for me that day. I was suddenly faced with an entirely new reality. Things I had long taken for granted were now out of reach, at least temporarily. I had to re-learn things all over again, formerly simple things like walking, talking, eating. The road was definitely humbling, although I will say it was more than a little interesting. As my recovery plateaued, I found that this "new" life was somehow more rewarding than the old one had ever been. Although my physical baseline wasn't where it used to be, everything else had become richer, fuller, more enjoyable. Family, friends, pets, music, and yes, even comic books were more meaningful than they had ever been. For the first time since I was a child, I approached the world with wide-eyed wonderment. I have been able to use my experience to stop and truly smell the roses. Much to my surprise, they're absolutely glorious. They were always there, right under my nose. I just never took the time to notice before. Be strong, good sir. Best of luck with everything. Feel free to reach out if you ever want to chat.
