timfinz
Not my book. I was asked to clean and press this book. The first two pictures are the before pictures. The final group of pictures are after the clean and press. I was happy with the results as was the owner who was only looking to have the book present better. Note: The interior centre fold is attached at both staples however in the last image you can see the "damage" to the middle portion of the centre fold. The damage does not appear to be related to worms or rodents. There is no other damage to interior pages. I've never come across this before and I am not certain if this effects the grade or not. Any thoughts? Much appreciated in advance.
marvelmaniac
In your last pic, is that a page missing, a stain? timfinz

The last picture is the centrefold. It is still attached at both staples. The page is "missing" between the top of the bottom staple to just below the top staple. It is not a stain, it does not appear to be anything related to insects or rodents as nothing else in the entire book exhibits this kind of oddity. Most silverfish damage effects more than just one page especially when it's in the middle of the book. But that's not to say you might be right. I'm assuming it wouldn't have any effect on the grade below 5.5 I would think.
Bmattioli86
The silverfish attack on the CF is really interesting. any plans to sub this book to get graded? Would be interested to see how they treat that damage timfinz

Most space to enter at the spine, thanks to the staples slightly forcing the pages apart. Most space to go to town, munching at the side. Couldn't be clearer. vheflin and timfinz
