how does the slab cause that type of rip? thats no SCS nor is it a 9.4. Paging the king for a grade, paging the king.

 

maybe that was where the grader was holding it and his thumb covered the hole confused-smiley-013.gif

You know, that kind of chipping seems to be indicative of Brittle pages.

 

Yep...and with cream pages, I suspect the old cover was indeed a bit brittle. frown.gif

I think that this is the key question. Is it on the backside of the book?

The other major question is:

How did this happen and how can it be prevented from ruining another book again.

It is great that Steve is buying the book back (if i understand correctly). However, this book is now in nowhere near the shape it was in and it seems as though somehow CGC and or their product is to blame. They should not have to be buying the book back in the first place.
