Both the inks and the pencils were done by the same artist?

yep

So, dumb question, why did he use 2 different boards then?

That was my next question. Seems strange.

(shrug) maybe so he'd be okay is he screwed up the inks?

Ok, so I know this is not as cool as EvilAsh's commission. But I did pick this up from Kieth Pollard at FallCon in St.Paul, MN last weekend. Spiderman 2099 with the first appearance of 2099 Venom! I couldn't resist the price, and Kieth is a really nice guy.

I had this piece done many years ago. Its not new but it has been sitting in a envelope and in a box since about 1997 when it was received for a trade i did with Sava. It hasn't seen light in 14yrs. Its around 9 3/4 x 13 in size.

I would probably do the same if I was assigned to pencil and ink the same page. I would separate them.

He would be ok if he screwed up the inks.

He could sell two separate pieces of art.

And considering he is the same artist - I think the value of both pieces will be very close to each other unlike other artwork with two separate artists where the penciler's work always commands more.

Howdy,

another rare 2-fer for me, both by Buscema chronicling a certain Cimmerian.

1st.....the real head turner, a rather salacious page from Savage Sword of Conan

#42 featuring a hapless bare breasted brunette, hung from the ceiling and

whipped by a lusty African queen. :o

http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=821661

Nudity, bondage, violence, overtones of lesbian-fu, all the proper ingredients

for a supermarket magazine rack page turner when we were kids. This was during

that brief period that Marvel tried to compete with Warren and Heavy Metal in

the more lusty aspects of R-rated material, besides the requisite hacking and

hewing of limbs and skulls that we had come to expect of Conan.

2nd..... a page from Conan #46, the only issue that Joe Sinnott inked from the

series over Buscema. I got it in trade from Greg O. via CAF, so thank you Greg,

and thank you Bill for making a place for it to happen. :headbang:

thanks for looking!

I am a big fan of Sean Dietrich, so we asked him to create covers for albums from some of our trips. Just got the last five of them back today and am very happy with the pieces.

Went to a City-Wide Garage Sale in Austin today and found these...

Mark Bode' convention sketch from 1989. I edited it out as to not offend anyone.

Gil Kane sketch from a Houston comic convention that took place in 1980. I'm not sure who the character is. The second image is what's on the back of the sketch.

George Perez sketch probably from the same convention?

This is a Dave Stevens print and it's actually signed by him. :cloud9:

Terrific pickups. Terry does great work and Echo was a blast.

Most importantly he's a Houstonian ;)

I really wanted to own a page from Justice League #1 and was lucky to find something in my modest budget. Jim and Scott have done great work on this series and I'll be saving my pennies for something big later down their run.

This page features pre-Cyborg Victor Stone looking up as Green Lantern flys by;
