Action Comics 65 Please Grade My Book

Robert Beerbohm here going back to grading school. I will be posting a series of books over the next couple weeks in an effort to come up to speed on tightened grading standards coupled with having bought a few pairs of eye glass 2.75 magnification "cheaters" to augment waning 20/20 vision brought on by advancing years. Any help welcomed.

if it weren't for the rust migration at the staple area, I would probably give this one a 7.0, but the rust migration drops it to 6.5 in my opinion...great looking book though..

Trouble with staple (?) on BC and URFC a bit too rounded for higher grade...

actually, the stain around the staple does not go into the book at all. It is localized strictly on the outer cover. when one lifts the cover up, one does not see anything remotely hinting at staining on the inside of the inner cover at the spine - hence, this is very slight

 

there is the slightest of tiny tears on the back cover on the left side, right across from the "Boxing for Self Defense" box in the ad - i would measure it at about 1/16 of an inch

 

no tears on the front cover

agreed. Altho I think the rust drops it from a 7.5 to 6.5. Still a very attractive book.

The Grading Bastiche says....not a lick under 6.0. It could go higher but I think the stain on the staple drops the grade a lot more than you would expect.
