I posted this one a while back in Gold, but what the heck -- this is the most active war thread and I actually have it in hand now.

G. I. Combat 7 (Quality) from June 1953. GCD says that there might be a Crandall story but I don't see it. Beater condition, but who cares?

The very first Silver Age book that I ever owned... full of strange mid-century quotes like 'POWDER RIVER! LET 'ER BUCK!!'

 

Even as a ten year old, that made no sense to me.

 

Oh - and nice book Fay! It tool me ages to find a decent GIC 118 as well.... something about that flamerthrower cover that makes it popular I guess.

The OFF 94 is a real Beauty and I would call it a VF+ or better. (thumbs u

 

 

The OAAW 98 I bought as a VG/F and I think Keith maybe under

graded this one with a small stain besides Rock's right elbow and a very

very faint Sub crease nearly down the whole front of the cover. Still a

very solid book in hand.

I've seen Atlas, Marvel and a few other companies posted here and

it is mostly DC but not restricted to DC only. I believe I am correct that

other companies' books are welcome.

It's all good and I love seeing books from all different companies, but in my opinion DC did war comics far better than any other company.

Is it possible that some of the confusion about this thread being specific to DC war has anything to do with the current title (RE: OAAW 83)?

How do we change that? It's a bit misleading (though I know it certainly wasn't intended as such).

This thread is and has always been about war comics extending far beyond Rock, OAAW, and DC war in general.
