I'd rather have a decent appearing VGF with nice bright colors and white pages than a dull FVF with brown pages.

 

Absolutely. I wouldn't discount the colors on the GIC 87 though. If you look at the rest of his auctions none of the books have correct colors, not even his bronze stuff. His scanner sucks....I am sure the book looks far nicer in-hand.

I looked at the new census, and there was a new JLA 1, and Flash 123 in 9.4 just added. So, who can say how many more lucky sweet raw war books remain in mylars out there? Maybe enough to go around... once their present owners tire of them that is!

 

But I'm not placing any bets it will happen soon enough for me.

I took a stab on a couple lower end books and came away with the OAAW #110 and #120. No where near High Grade but great books on the cheap. Larry

Not when even lower grade copies for for multiples of guide. Getting my OAAW 83 was cake by comparison.

A copy of that book comes up on the bay evey 4 to 6 weeks or so.... so just keep on the prowl.

 

Question for everyone... I only get to one or two conventions a year (in Toronto), so it's hard for me to tell - but does this book show up at conventions very often? Is it a common wall book?

 

I didn't see a single issue at San Diego in 2002 and 2003. And I saw a coverless copy here in Toronto some years ago for $30!!

 

And Jeff, what would be be the lowest grade you would accept on that book? Maybe some of your forum bros can keep an eye out for you.

I'd be happy with a 4.0 (or 3.0 with good presentation), but ideally would like a 6.0/7.0 copy.

old school for me. Rock makes it and the faces are better and cropped more excitingly. Why not compromise and swap out the Jap for a flamethrower?? Or just add it and make it wider/smaller?

Here are two books that arrived on my doorstep an

hour ago and I'm still out of breath from dancing around

the room.

 

It's so nice to have one of these back in my collection and

it's not HG, but is really bright with no tanning and great inside

pages.

 

 

 

Another early Rock cover I love. Nice book other than that nick

out of the top of the spine.

 

 

 

 

It has been a great day and I've got some more Beauties on the

way.
