Heath ledger.....uuugghhhh. They should have picked somebody uglier and scarier , like a Steve Buscemi type.

 

Ya I think Buscemi would make a great Joker too - It could have been worse, at least Ledger is a dedicated actor.

I think it's a good choice. MUCH better than Robin Williams.

It's gotten painful to watch the first Batman with Jack Nicholson.

The villains in superhero movies should not be played by Superstars.

I remember all the Robert DeNiro " Dr Octopus" talk.

Jack was his irrepressable best as always in his role, albeit the other actors were not so indowed in the arts.

 

Heath Ledger though..can he do maniacal without us thinking he's shlte.

Sure he showed what he's got what it take's in Brokeback. But there's a vast differencve between giving a performance, and taking it.

I have to disagree on that. Nicholson was the man in that movie!

 

Without him to me it would of been fodder!

 

 

Was it campy, hell yeah! But that's just the trick - BatMan was really hard to take serious

as a movie at first because the only thing before this was the Ultra Campy 60's TV show.

 

His one liners were priceless...

I think Ledger could work as long as he doesn't try to do Nicholson doing the Joker. I set up some Brokeback jokes there. I hope they don't try to do an origin of the Joker. Let's just have a statement or two from Gordon about what his detectives have learned and go from there.

 

I hope they go with him being the anti-Bruce Wayne angle. Good looking guy who looses his looks. We have seen the other actors fans wanted do crazy roles. It's not expected of Ledger so it will be interesting to see if he can pull it off.

I think Nicholson was great as the Joker but I also think that Jack from the late 60's/early 70s would have been perfect, younger, leaner, crazier, but since ya can't go back in time I'm happy with what we had. As for Ledger, I'll have to wait and see, I can't really prejudge him but I have high hopes
