I might not be in the know, but any idea to the letter "B" that's in the upper left hand corner of these two books?  I've seen it in other books too over the years, but these two stand out at the moment.  Might it be an original owner collection/pedigree of some type?  Just an observation.  https://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Damazing%2Bspiderman%2B1%26GO2%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCB&id=1679213

If I recall correctly, the same boardie that I bought this 9 from also sold an ASM 1 9.0 on these very same boards.

I don't know, but I once owned an ASM #14 with this marking (top center, in the webbing).

all three B's are written differently, especially the one on this lovely asm14. i doubt that it is related to either of those other books as far as an original collection goes. granted, i'm no handwriting expert.

I'm not sure that that Sweet Lou 14's ASM14 book isn't part of that same "food chain" of books.  Sure, the "B" looks a bit different, but it's still a "B" written on the top cover.  Makes one wonder....hm

Anyone who knows me, knows I collect La Prensa Publications comics of many different titles, one of which is Amazing Spider-Man. I was VERY happy to add two new books to my collection this week! This copy is the highest graded copy ... actually, it's the only graded copy!

very stoked to have all the big books in this run now, and with the white pages to boot. i don't normally care for the cva stickers but i can see why this book got one.

Thanks, I appreciate that! Great question!!! I wish I knew! I wish I knew where to find out about print runs of the different titles and really any other information about the publisher! I've been able to put a few things together, but I have more questions that I do answers!

From what I've learned over the years, the "B" may very likely represent the distributor code for a specific national or local Distributor which unsold books could be returned to by the newsstand dealer.  I've seen handwritten books with "ON" and "PB" on the cover which represent Omaha News and Publishers News.  It's a very interesting topic with a lot of information still to be discovered (thumbsu

I agree that it's likely a distributor code. Although not from the same comic age, I have some Larson copies that have an "ON" which stood for Omaha News (as you had mentioned). I'll drop one in below.

Great looking book @alexgross.com! Know you have been hunting that elusive ASM1 in WP! Really is hard to come by in that that PQ. Worth the wait! Congrats!!!

I think I know what I should do, but I'd like opinions please. I've been offered an ASM #36 6.0 White or an ASM #64 8.0 White. They've both got about the same FMV. Which would you buy?

Take the one you want more. 64 has a classic Romita cover so I would go for that one.
