Recently picked up a copy of 158 and have 111 being delivered today-- as long as the lazy post man feels like getting out of his vehicle instead of claiming to leave a notice like yesterday. Pretty much just needing 1-7 and some keys to finish my run. Guess I need to find something else to hunt for while I wait.

Haven't picked anything up in awhile, but I did pick these up recently for my Miller Registry Set. I already had 9.8's, but I trade them plus a little $ for very nice newsstands versions. Jason/akadaredevil on eBay was great to deal with. Some people may not care about direct vs newsstand, but I'm very happy to get them and wanted to share with you guys.

I was actually sending the #166 back if you want to work something out with the seller. He's a great guy. PM me and I'll give you his contact info. His eBay account is actually akadaredevil.

PM sent!

not sure how to find someone's particular store on ebay  ??

He's got a #169 9.8 Newsstand for sale right now. Just find that listing and you can see the other books he has.

Wow, I guess the silly money is still chasing after CGC's Highest Graded copies.

Even worse than this one here which finished at an even higher absolute dollar value, but at least it was an earlier issue and a Pacific Coast pedigree copy to justify it somewhat:

I wouldn't call this purchase "silly money" It's a great result for the book.

It's higher than we expected, but it's not 3x what we expected either.  It's not even 2x. The last copy in this grade sold (in public) for $23,900 in 2012.

The #2 is a bigger increase over the last time it sold (also in 2012), but as you mention, it's the PC book so it had more juice.

So! DON'T GO TO THE GYM, comic collectors! I bid $825 on the Daredevil #86 CGC 9.6. That's 2.5(ish) times the last 9.6 sale and nearly the same price paid for the last 9.8. I laid that bid down a while ago and was just sweating bullets since.

So, what happened? It sold for $846, which isn't even a whole increment over my high bid. Which means! If I'd been at my computer instead of at the gym I'd be $871 poorer because I sure as heck would have upped that bid.

Damn me and my health!

I did win (by $2!) the DD41 White Mountain, which is a pretty cool consolation prize.
