I was interested in the Marvel Mystery 13 auctioned by Nelsonguy666 E-Bay number Item # 2181271958 since it looked so much better than the FRedKarger copy E-Bay number Item # 2179872264 . What do you guys think? I suspect that Nelson can sell the book a lot cheaper than Fred since his cost is probably lower.

Jkrk, since your new i am going to give you a word of advise. Dont just put up auction #;s as reference in your post. Make sure you paste the whole link so people who want to respond dont have to take 5 minutes to see what you are talking about. Here is what you should have done:

I would try to contact the second seller, Fredkarger and ask him ....cause they are the same book.

Actually, you should email the first seller and ask for a scan of the back cover. But don't hold your breath since as he says in his auction

They are the same copy so how can one look so much better than the other???

Also....the one Nelsonguy666 has up for auction started the SAME DAY that FredKargers copy ended.

I'll tell you what jkrk meant. I recognized the book as a very, very, high probability that it is the same copy as the Fredkarger auction. It looked like a scam from a zero feedback seller. Hpw many Vg+ copies are out there? Maybe a coincidence but not likely. Perhaps that is why Nelsons could sell it at a cheaper price. His cost might be zero. Ant price he receives is all profit.

All the books he's listed are scams. The FF # 48 CGC 9.4 belonged to me until just a few weeks ago & I sure as hell never sold it to that

There are more scams than ever before. It might be tied to the economy or perhaps the publicity comics are getting lately. Besides the obvious scams selling books based on copied pictures I am also noticing scams by some bigger sellers. These include buying restored books and taking them out of the cgc holder and selling them as unrestored and shill bidding (some of the biggest are resorting to this one). In the past selling overgraded books on E-Bay appeared to be the norm. I guess CGC is making some sellers life a bit more difficult.

Actually I would clarify that by saying it is making the dishonest sellers life a bit more difficult...for the many honest sellers (of which many forum members) it makes life easier...and on top of that it makes the hobby more fun...JMO...

I have seen that Amazing Spider-man 1 picture before

It was in an auction not long ago

And if you look at all of the auctions the pictures are not taken the same way.

Usually you would take them all with a blue background or take two photos one of front and back.

But he is inconsistent with his pictures which makes it an obvious scam

I think alot of people have caught onto it being a scam because bids on some of the rare comics are $0.01

I think someone should tell the high bidders

I bought a NM USM 4 for $30 including shipping

But before i could pay i got an email about him being a con artist and i thanked him very much

By all means, buyers are happy to receive tips. Sometimes they are a bit suspicious of being contacted in the first place. But, wouldn't you be?

Just wanted to drop you a note before your account becomes suspended for trying to steal from people. I have already alerted eBay to you stealing images and auctions from other sellers and then trying to auction them off as your own. If they do not get you in time, I will make sure to contact any winners of your auctions. I have your contact information ( if it is real) and I am in the process of reporting you to the FBI online fraud division.

If you take a look at the below auctions, you will see identifying marks on the comics in the pictures when compared to the legitimate auctions. You will also see that the format in which the picture was taken is different in everyone of his auctions, another telltale sign of a scam artist – if the pictures were taken by the seller, the format would be the same for all auctions, not a different one in every auction. The sellers contact information is also invalid – phone number does not match city, state, or name. Please act on this as soon as possible.
