Argh!

As more Four Colors that I'd like to own appear while I'm writing my message.

Bob, surely you have some REAL stinkers. No funny animals better liked than, say, Heckle and Jeckle.

Okay, this is a bit of a cheat, as Little Lulu is pretty well liked, but come on guys, it's a GIRL COMIC!!! ....

Once again, I think most of the people reading this post would be happy to own that one.

Don't you have anything that people wouldn't bother to pay the postage on?

Flippity and Flop might be the right idea. I bought #44 and 46 for a big 50¢ each not long ago.

Okay okay. Tough crowd. I just don't have scans handy of the really crappy books, but I'll get 'em for you, trust me insane.gif

...

Do you have a full set of the World Around Us series? I've been slowly accumulating them but stalled about half-way. Are some significantly harder to find than others? Several of mine are apparent warehouse remainders with binding marks and huge splotches of distributor's ink.

Unfortunately I don't have any scans and the books are inconveniently in storage.

Jack

Is the ink purple? I have a few that look like they were dipped in purple ink on the edge. Didn't know why?

Yes, dark blue-purple.

Returned by the distributor? Something like that. There are huge bundles of some unpopular books still sitting in warehouses, as far as I can tell. Mine were bought in big ebay lots from Lou at bakertownepartners a couple of years ago. Probably others here know more about warehouse lots than I do.

sumo.gif I like Heckle & Jeckle!

I was afraid of that.

How low can we go? Gandy Goose? Little Roquefort? Little Aspirin? (nah, someone would want those because they're Timely/Atlas) Li'l Genius? Little Angel?

Surely there's SOME character that no one likes.

Let's try this -

Not too bad -- er, I mean, not too good!

if some crazed terrorist had ever asked me under pain of death for my guess as to a pair of words never combined on a comic cover, i might have said "Exercise Musk-Ox." alas, i would have thought myself safe.

luckily, i saw this book first, else there would have been trouble

And this is just a pure classic in my book!

The way that prices are going through the roof for anything-Archie, you could easily get multiples of Guide for this!

STEVE

He could have easily paid multiples of Guide for it, too 27_laughing.gif

What's the interior art like on these?

The covers are so-so but I'm a history buff and perhaps I have unfairly passed them by.

Get with the program, people! I'm sure if we all work a little harder we can come up with lamer comics than the ones we've listed so far! sumo.gif

They are a lot like the art you see on the covers actually. Not sure on the artist but it seems to be the same guy who did the covers.

I'd say it was basic in layout and illustration. Very readable, and there's always about 7 stories or so in each book so it's perfect for short attention spans.

Actually I like that one! The blending of Western & Romance is nice,

Me too. I'm a sucker for mixed genres.

At least its not another shot of a cowboy with a gun!

An Illudium Pu-36 explosive space modulator in the cowboy's hand would have spiced up the cover real good though.

(I just come Tubby's expression on this cover)

Disturbing. I hope you return to edit that sentence!

Jack

(yeah, OK, he's sorta cute in his sailor's hat, but this is an all-ages forum...)

That's just wrong Jack....
