How about these two then?

Li'l Abner hasn't generated any buzz in decades.

(shrug)

But the artwork is so good that they may not be allowed on the short bus.

I wonder whether it's all Al Capp in these issues. Could there be some Frazetta there?

:busy:

Nice copies!

Okay. Let me try again then. Here's a title that's only mentioned by doddering old codgers when they're deep within their cups:

Don't really have anywhere else to put these two I came across the floor of the Baltimore show tonight. Beaters but cool cover for the Super-Mystery and Palais art on the cover story and the Tailspin Tommy art looked really nice when I flipped through it -

I didn't know there was such a "doll" in Dollman or I might have picked up one or two by now.

Thanks for sharing the interior page. (thumbs u

This thread is one of the threads that separates the true comic enthusiasts from the dilettantes and poseurs. Here's the similar thread dealing with the Silver Age:

Here are some scans of more of my commonly overlooked pre-code books:

The Ratzis and Jap Rats panels are from the "Patriotic Piper" story in Chuckle, the Giggly Book of Comic Animals.

Artist is Carl Wessler (as COW, which is a great way to sign your work in a funny animal comic). I showed the back cover of Chuckle somewhere recently, but here's both covers.
