I understand that. But let's say book is 8.5 and I quess 8.0. Is that 1 point?

Yes thumbsup2.gif

The only time to grab two points is in the 9.x range smile.gif

count me in!

its funny cause I just came across some emails from Brad and Flick from our teamup grading contest!!

but, can you go over the points again. Im confused by the 1 pt and .2 off system.

if the book is a 9.0

player 1 guesses 8.5 ... he gets 2 pt (off by one grade)

player 2 guesses 9.0 ... he gets 4 pts (nailed it)

player 3 guesses 9.2 ... he gets 2 pts (off by one grade)

player 4 guesses 9.4 ... he gets 1 pts (off by 2 grades)

player 5 guesses 9.6 ... he gets 0 pts (off by 3 grades)

right?

or does the system vary above 9.0 where the grade levels are only .2 apart?

and if so... why??? Seems to me we have always played it that each CGC level is a full grade higher...regardless of ehether its .5 or ,2 pts apart. Has there been a call for a chamge this time around?

not trying to be an instigator... just keeping with the times...

Yes this time it will vary for the 9.x grades.

In your example above;

Player 1 would get 1 point

Player 2 would get 4 points

Player 3 would get 2 points ( being he/she is off +/- .2)

Player 4 would get 0

Player 5 would also get 0

an interesting twist would be to announce before you start that there is a single PLOD in the mix. if you guess the right book you get a plus 5 bonus, but if you guess wrong you lose 3 points

Trying to hopefully keep this pretty basic without subtracting points hi.gif

But I will add this, first person to nail 5 grades in a row will get a pretty cool OA page.

Count me in.

BTW, I got 2nd place (choked and didn't cross the finish line to grab 1st place blush.gif) in the STL grading contest. One prize I won was a subscription to E-BIGS. I'd like to donate it to someone who would like to use their service.

So, if you want it, post an takeit.gif and PM me your name and e-mail address and I'll provide it to E-BIGS. thumbsup2.gif
