you just have to have a house with a basement. That is how I did it.

 

arent basements bad for paper because of the humidity?

 

If it is not finished and has no AC, then most definitely yes. However, if it is finished and has central air, it should be ok. I would use a humidistat to check before storing any books there long-term. A de-humidfier could also be used to maintain the humidity.

It also depends on which state you live in. Out here in Utah we have very low humidity, but when I lived in Michigan you'd get mold everywhere because it was so humid.
