I do not want a collection that will sit inside a safe or a box. If something is cool, I want to look at it and enjoy it. I am in the hobby for me not as an investment. I make sure that there is no sunlight in the room at all. That being said, that means most of you might not like my comic room. :) I am only showing three walls because the 4th wall has too much identifiable stuff like diplomas and other nonsense.

Curious...why do so many of you display expensive or beloved comic books in the light? I've never understood this. I suppose it's OK with expensive and UV protected holders, but it's so easy to print out a nice color copy of a favorite comic. With a printed copy, who cares what happens to it, and you can still enjoy the cover. Shouldn't comics be stored in a dark, cool, relatively dry, and pest free room?

Just wondering... I am a collector who really enjoys Amazing Spider-Man issues in high grade, and I have never displayed a copy in the light. I put them in a Mylar with a full back or send them for CGCing.

All the best and Merry Christmas!

V/R,

Mike

I display my books in a dark vault with no light and a generator that keeps the air pure. The safe wall is 6 inches thick and I am always prepared for burglaries or UV emergencies. NOT. Seriously? That's not displaying anything. Since my most expensive book is $300, I would rather enjoy than preserve.

Hey-yooo...any time you want to compare VT stuff let me know :P

My dad went there so I grew up a big fan. We've got about 5 balls from when I used to run around as a kid and get autographs. Still have the entire team signed one from 1996. Ooooh...aaaah.

Thanks everyone! I was hesitant to post it because I was unsure of the response. Even better is all of the Virginia Tech fans that seem to be on here :) :)

Hey Tuffy, you most likely got me beat but I have some good signatures on the Helmets. The full size one is Michael Vick of course. The little ones are each signed by my favorite VT players such as Bryan Randall, Tyrod Taylor, DeAngelo Hall, Kevin Jones..etc.... The 49er Helmet has my favorite SF players Montana, Young, Rice, Lott and Craig :)
