The old guy standing on the cannon seems like a character I've seen many times with no idea who drew him. Starry Eyes looks like a huge influence on manga and modern "girlie books", unless Calpini also borrowed the style from another source. Rats -- I have Alter Ego 46 but not 47. I've been watching and enjoying a lot of Fleischer animation of late so it's wonderful to learn that some of their incredible artists were doing work for comics, too. Thanks, Scrooge.
