I haven't had so much fun since the last time I checked this thread, Worth the price of my internet connection. Great covers, great history, great illustrations...great fun! Thanks everyone.

Please feel free to put a donation in the collection plate. :wishluck:

I'll see to it that all tips are distributed fairly among the contributors. ;)

Do you have any of the Hooded Detective, Black Hood pulps, BZ?

No, I don't. :(

That pulp underwent many title changes during its run, including Black Hood Detective (for one issue) and Hooded Detective (for two issues). I have plenty of issues under its various other names, but not when it was titled either of those two names.

For those among you who are trivia buffs, here is a list of the title changes.

Detective Yarns: June 1938 – April 1941 (11 issues)

Black Hood Detective: September 1941 (1 issue)

Hooded Detective: November 1941 – January 1942 (2 issues)

Crack Detective: May 1942 – September 1943 (10 issues)

Crack Detective Stories: November 1943 – September 1949 (34 issues)

Famous Detective: November 1949 – March 1950 (3 issues)

Famous Detective Stories: June 1950 – October 1956 (32 issues)

Crack Detective and Mystery Stories: December 1956 – July 1957 (4 issues)

Very impressive Bang :golfclap:

the colors on these pulps are so unfaded and striking! :cloud9:

Thanks, Steve. :)

All the Thrilling Mystery pulps came from the same original owner collection.

Many of them have the name of the newsstand where they were purchased (Frank & Ben, 1031 Sixth Ave, San Diego, California) stamped on the back cover.

I'm curious if anyone else has any magazines with the same name stamped on them?

Do you have some of these New Story issues. Pretty good art on the cover. The Brandywine Museum outside of Philadelphia has a large collection of art from children's books by Wyeth and others.
