lower grade (obviously) spine s split about 4 inches or so,so that is throwing me off a bit!

With all due respect to my esteemed colleagues who have graded it a 3.0, I might go a bit lower if the paper quality is really toasted, which I suspect it is due to the long spine split and dark tanned appearance.

 

Nice eye appeal however.

you can have a 3.0 with a 4" spine split...but page quality will lower from a 3.0 to 2.5 if the PQ is slightly brittle

This is essentially the same grade as my Detective #10 CGC 3.0 (which also has a spine split to just above the bottom staple, plus a couple of small chips missing). How is the page quality? If it is not brittle or slightly brittle, then I think it is a solid 3.0.

Amazing that it has no Marvel chipping but has been through as much as it has.

Tough one. Looks like a 3.0 but not sure the strict interpretation of the spine split that long.
