This statue is just another indication that the US market is sliding over to emulate the successful Japanese market. Their statues have looked like this one for many years.

 

Note that this Supergirl statue is manufactured by Japanese manufacturer Kotobukiya.

eh, not quite

 

starting from scratch would require me to build an armature, wrap it in tape, pack it with foil, slap some sculpey, shape it, bake it, add more sculpey, bake it again, pray that it doesnt crack, add more sculpey, shape it, hope that the proportions are correct, bake it, sand it smooth, chop it to manageable pieces, recast it

 

too much shaping & bakin'

be easier to just tear it apart, since it is PVC, recast it & sand down her thighs & add some meat to her waist, then paint it. I could make a few more copies & do all the incarnations of Supergirl blush.gif

 

too bad it's coming out in Dec & not now, it would have given me something to do over the summer
