In the same vein as Comicdonna thumbsup2.gif, I can never get tired of staring at this cover. My baby. cloud9.gifcloud9.gifcloud9.gif

893applaud-thumb.gif And I believe it was comic of the month on the CGC website.

I saw that book in VG condition I believe recently on ebay. I wonder if anyone on the boards picked it up. If i was an Action Comics/Superman collector, this would be in my top 10 wantlist.

Being in the petroleum industry now, that's a must have....awsome cover.

I only get one comic for life that's easy , Fantastic Four # 55 !! I know it ain't Golden Age but that book sure brings back memories. Riding in Dad's red convertible on a beautiful summer day in 1966 , stopping at the corner grocery store & buying Spider-Man # 41 & FF # 55 with it's Haunting purple background on the cover while the Thing & Surfer squared off , don't get much bettter for me.

OHH!! & that Lee, Kirby, story & art inside!! cloud9.gifcloud9.gifcloud9.gif

And my Dad , I miss him. As I 've said before , I can pick up a comic & tell you Memories. & they are Precious & they can't be sold , but they are cherished !! cloud9.gif

Great story Punny and not a bad choice. thumbsup2.gif

If only I owned a copy. Actually I have had a few opportunities to pick this particular book up but I always end up having more important things to do with my discretionary income.

I got the scan from here . The site has a nice gallery of Schomburg's "Xela" covers.

If I was stranded on an island with one book, I'd much rather stare at Phantom Lady than Batman any day of the week. tongue.gif

Point well taken. Taking your lead, I would hide this one inside the Tec 27...(course I would have to crack it first)

but, over time, couldn't that distracting woman in the background spoil your fun if she kept peeping while you were doing your thing with bruce wayne sans costume and clothes? don't you have any loincloth covers with guys ONLY?

That is a beautiful book! Any other MH Actions from that time period?

I paged through that copy many years ago in San Diego(long enough ago that it was in the old convention center). Gary Carter brought many Action Mile Highs that year, but we weren't able to work out a deal. Triple guide was the norm at the time, but he was asking quadruple. I ended up buying a raw 8.0 copy of Action #47 form Windy City Comics instead.

Stupidly sold it to Ken Stribling, along with several other Actions, for 1.25 guide. This was a decade ago. High grade Actions had surged in value over guide, and I didn't get the memo. foreheadslap.gif
