If you could go back in time to get one comic, anyone you would like, wish one it would be?!

I think i'll get AMS nº1 or AF nº15, not because of their value, but specially because of their importance on the medium/culture...and i wouldn't mind if i only find a VF copie, lol. smirk.gif

Regards, Pedro.

I think I'd go back and pick up Uncanny X-Men #172, the comic that got me into the hobby, so I could relive those warm & fuzzy special memories of my early days as a comic collector. cloud9.gifcloud9.gifcloud9.gif

Yeah, right, and if you believe that...!!! 893naughty-thumb.gif Of course I'd go back to 1938 and pick up Action #1!! makepoint.gif Or maybe I'd go back and pick up Uncanny X-Men #207 in early 1986...and pick up as much newly-IPO'd Microsoft stock as I could get my hands on at the same time! goodevil.gif

What can I say to that, except "it's better to be lucky than good"!! 893frustrated.gif

Well, I remember the title of the first comic I every bought and the first comic I ever owned. Problem is...I can't remember the issue #'s. The very first comic I remember owning would probably be what a trade is now. It was a Henry black and white trade. Seem to remember it was about 8 1/2 x 5/12 in size, and probably had re-prints of newspaper comics in them? I would have owned this probably in the late '50's. Think it was something my parents bought for me.

I also remember bringing a Roy Rogers comic to school one day. The teacher asked the class to bring books to read. Thought a comic would be ok, but to this day I remember the look the teacher gave me and her comments about bringing comics to school. 27_laughing.gif In those days, comics were evil. grin.gif (I didn't know any better- I was 8 years old frown.gif) This would have been around 1962 or so.

For purely nostalgic reasons, it would be a toss-up between these two. Naturally, considering the worth of an Action #1, for investment that would be the one. But, I'm sure if that was the only criteria I'm pretty sure everyone would name that one.

I'd go back and explain to Rob Liefeld's parents that their young son might benefit from taking some anatomy classes...

I'd go back and walk onto the set of Bosom Buddies to tell Peter Scolari that his castmate would be the number 2 all-time box office draw in another 18 years...

I'd go back to 1985 and watch all the Traci Lords pornos I could find so I could do so without feeling guilty...

I would likely buy no comics whatsoever, but rather sink all that money into Microsoft! makepoint.gif

I'd take a HUGE portion of my dividends, and BET THE RANCH on Buster Douglas! acclaim.gif

THEN, I would consult with some of my tech-head buddies, and see if I couldn't come up with a web-site that would enable my girl-friend to buy and sell her Pez collection, eventually expanding to sell everything under the sun, and taking a little nibble out of each listing, whether it sells or not... 893applaud-thumb.gif

I'd go back in time and kill Ida Amin and Hitler, and then I'd buy Action #1 and Microsoft stock! smile.gif

Idi Amin maybe... but without Hitler (or someone like him) there wouldn't have been Microsioft stock to buy...

The dividends won't go too far.... grin.gif

Microsoft didn't have a dividend until recently, and I believe it is only 8c a share.

Near around the 40's, I would have started-up an archiving service to assist in what would soon follow as the emerging comic publishers market; the focus of the service would be purely to maintain file copies for comic publishers. If not for my own self-serving pursuits, at least I would have had a hand in making sure I had at least one file copy for every single comic ever published, and maybe chipmunked away a few for bragging rights. smirk.gif
