I can't really remember which one's came first, but here's a small recap of some of my purchases:

$50: raw Hulk #102 (F), Conan #1 (F) - both overgraded by eBay sellers and I sold them here for losses.

$250: Daredevil #1 (VG-) - sold to friend for $250

$760: Marvel Special Edition #15 cgc 9.8 white - still have cloud9.gif

$1050: Hulk #1 bought raw as a 1.8-2.0, graded a cgc 2.5 ow yay.gif

the book that was the no turning back point for me was a modest book compared to some others listed. but until this book i was spending 20 dollars tops. i had the mentality of more is better. i always felt that if i came home from a con with 20 books that is much better then just one. even if that one is of a much higher quality. of course that has all changed. thanks to a raw 9.4 avengers 93 that i paid 70 bucks for about 7 years ago.

i know it’s not much, but it’s the one that did it for me.

My firsts....

$500+: $515 for X-Men 1 in 3.0

27_laughing.gif That was a steal hail.gif

As much as I don't really like superhero stuff, that's one of my favorites. cloud9.gif It's just neat owning one of the big SA keys....even in low grade.

$150 Sgt. Fury 1 (got a while back, got it graded CGC 8.5)

$500 Tales of Suspense 39 (graded CGC 4.0)

$1000 and up? ...not yet, hopefully a nice high-grade DC war key book

In the late 1970s or early 1980s I remember buying a nice Daredevil #1 for $70. That was my first really big purchase.

Lately:

$250+: Batman #36, raw, probably Fine-ish.

$500+: Brave and Bold #1, CGC 5.0

$1000+: Phantom Lady #15, CGC 7.5

I did buy the Phantom Lady before the Brave and Bold though...

Avengers #1 CGC 7.0 for $1500 in 2004. Won on Ebay, and the seller was local to me, so I met with him for pickup. He was selling his childhood collection, including ASM #1 and FF #1-4. Highest I ever paid for a comic thumbsup2.gif
