Gonna have any protection from the scammers since you will be giving them a great place to steal photos? Like the great transparent gif over the images.

 

Absolutely - that's a great idea and something that we're working on right now.

 

Osbourne - haven't thought about other languages yet. Thanks for the tip - we'll definitely look into it.

If one's savvy enough, they can get around those transparent .gifs using Frontpage or another editor. Maybe implementing some software that will generate a watermark on the uploaded scan could be an option.

I like the idea of a watermark that would automatically be added to all images upon upload. We will look into implementing this in the near future.

As for the marketplace, we decided it'd be best to keep certain information (ownership, etc) blind until a price had been agreed upon by both parties. We want the marketplace to act like a big storefront.

 

How does one post something in the marketplace, without adding it to their gallery?

When you upload the book, there is a check box for "For Sale?". If you check the box, it automatically filters the book into the marketplace rather than into your personal collection folders. :-)

I just signed up, unfortunately all my photo's saved on my hard drive are too large. And the URL from photobucket doesn't seem to work. Need to rescan all my graded books to a smaller size.

Theres software out there that will resize all your scans for you in 1 east step.
