  1. Here are some from the G and H box
  2. Prices seem to be pretty good for most of the duck books. I would like to pick up a few more of the first 20 WDCS and the rest of the Four Colors but I can wait a few years more. The Mickey Mouse in the middle is the first comic size issue and it has a duck on the cover which is what a duck collector would want. Right?
  3. Great stuff Ciorac. Here are a few from the "A" box. A few of these are incomplete but they look good in the group photo.
  4. These are some of my older ducks.
  5. You have more? Love to see them. The DC comics look pretty good and the other books aren't to shabby either.
  6. Ultra was an interesting character but she could be easily confused with Lois or Luthor. The atomic bomb was mentioned in this story. Jerry must have read too much science fiction.
  7. Holy Heartbreak Batman! I still think Action #13 has one of the best GA covers you'll ever see; I just don't know how I missed that one. don't feel bad, I didn't realize it either until these all-knowing boards set me straight. (thumbs u I don't think the work by Guardineer makes the cover any less desirable. It is a really cool train. And most of the work signed by Shuster was by one of his ghost. I do like that really early Doctor Occult which is the real Shuster but I still enjoy the work by Cassidy.
  8. First appearance of Uncle Scrooge in WDCS was issue 98 which is after pubublication of FC 189. So I guess it must be the second appearance. Irregardless, it is a fine story which I enjoyed a lot. Since it was reprinted in the sixties, I kept my reprint copy in my collection and didn't look for an original copy until recently. The Blazing issue that I purchased has a FC 189 interior. Now I only need 9, 29 and 62.
  9. Don't judge a boardie by their posts... 'cat is very judgmental: [ I picked this one up a long time ago. I usually file away Ducks and Mighty Mouse in the collectors boxes but occasionally a Super Cat or Rabbit gets in the there.
  10. I passed up buying Amazing Spiderman 1 and FF 2 and AAF 15 at a discount but purchased an overpriced Avengers 4. Still looking for FF 4 too but had to have the Cap origin.
  11. I am fond of the Bouncer covers by Stoner, although I think you're missing one, and the Living Bible issues. LB covers are by LB Cole and the one on the right is hilarious. You have a priest, a rabbi and and a minister up front shaking hands and soldiers drowning in the surf behind them. What does that say? LBs work looked pretty good anyway.
  12. I have listed a lot of books but found only a couple of items that matched up. However, I did manage to buy a lot of other bits and pieces which people are willing to sell if they know you are interested. I purchased a couple of coverless Green Hornet issues recently and paid a high price because I had one of the covers. Unfortunately the outside leaf is a little fragile. It might hold up better now since it has a cover to protect it.
  13. Speaking of the other guys, Powell did great work for Harvey. Someone posted this scan of the original art or it came from the Heritage auction.
  14. Clearly short-bus in my book. The model sheet for these characters changed so much for the poorer overtime that I can't stand to look at Woody or Andy on those covers. Oswald changed a little less but compared any of these from their early Four Color appearances and you know how much we've lost. Same happened with Tom (of Tom & Jerry) and it pains me to watch or read later outings of the duo. I really like those early New Funnies issues. I hope the price stays low so I can get a whole run of those lil Eight Ball issues. Tom and Jerry was like 3D vs 2D when you compare those early issues with work done in the later fifties. Barney Bear repints are still hard to find aren't they. I have to keep buying Our Gang comics until I have read them all.
  15. Orlando and Wood(?) did some great work but he used a little help from guys that got less credit. Fawcette did this Flying Saucer's character which was copied by them I think. Fawcette did Flash Gordon for King as well according to the GCD but Raymond was a hard act to follow.
  16. Do you remember which thread? I find things like this impossible to search for. I really want to see this copy that even cheetah covets! Wally Wood... i have carte blanche authority to post my geek's books. That's the one. It's got it all. Avon had some great covers. This one is touched up but love the Kinstler art.
  17. Those are two of my favorite covers. I searched for the Batman 20 cover for a while but ended up buying a facsimile cover from Fedoraman. Maybe this is your copy. Not sure where I got the scan.
  18. You're wrong. Just about every suburb I've ever had the misfortune of driving through has been really boring. This is the suburb where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, all the children are above average, all of the residents are middle-class, apparently Caucasian bipedal animals, and the worst crime is when some toughs shake down Beaver for his lunch moneyy. Jack I see you are a fan of the Prarie Home Companion. Even though it is sponsored by Bisquick, it may be canceled with all of the other NPR shows. Sad... bb
  19. These have been photoshopped a little but they are complete. I think I have a few pages from 19 and 27. I also have coverless copies of 28, 29 and 33 or 34. But I probably like these the best. Sorry I missed a chance to purchase Action 23 but maybe next year.
  20. Even Wambi and friends got the Baker touch it seems. From Jungle 74 and GAC
  21. So is that a Cole creation or did he take the skull from Matt Baker's art. Interesting...the BBW #115 is from October 1952. When and where is that page from? Judging from how it looks on the page, it seems like it was swiped from the Blue Bolt Weird cover. Note where the hand would have appeared in the hair. The splash by Baker is from All-Famous Police Cases #7 October 1952.
  22. I recently learned that this 3D splash (one color taken out for clarity) was reprinted in another comic. Don't remember if it was a St. John title but thinking it would be a Strange Terrors.
