  1. I was reading about a collection with SN or PN at the top. What was it?
  2. The inside covers had a story in black in white. I just cleaned it up. It isn't original art if that is what you are thinking about. There isn't enough of that stuff out there but you can find a few recreations.
  3. I like the colors on the Schomburg art.
  4. It is kind of fun to see the Baker art in black and white. Someone posted scans of Teenage Romances 19.
  5. There is almost too much action on a page by Raymond if reduced to the size of a comic book.
  6. I think the beast on the cover of Planet 22 was in the new Star Wars movie. Is the spider cover also by Z?
  7. I think you are right , this one is tough to find. So much going on in the cover. It would have made me spend my dime in the 1940's. I think that Fight 15 and 16 are tough and seldom seen. I like many of the Fight covers and happy to have that one in the box.
  8. I am still looking for an Action 19. Coverless and CFO would be OK.
  9. Already over $10k. Yowza! So already a record, I think. I can't recall another Baker going for more than $10K. This is the same copy that was offered in Chicago 3 years ago from a fellow boardie for $10K. It eventually sold for a bit less. I seriously thought of picking it up then, thinking it would be worth that, or more, eventually. But I backed away. Didn't a 9.0 pop up on eBay a few years ago with what at the time seemed like an outrageous BIN? I wish I could remember the details on that one. I think the BIN was well below $10K. I think this was one of the first scans that I posted on the boards. I like it but I think Exciting 60 is just about as good.
  10. I enjoy all of those Frazetta covers. The EC cover that should have been Buck is in the background and somebody posted a nice hand-colored version signed by Frazetta.
  11. I have an old copy of the Buck reprints from Ed Aprill, I think. Does anyone have the pop-up book. I don't but I enjoy seeing the pictures. I don't have the Buck Rogers Pop up book. Will the Flash Gordon do? I have had a chance to buy both but Flash was too poor and Buck was too expensive.
  12. Lothar had superhuman strength but played second banana to Mandrake's magic.
  13. I like FC 408 and found it in several lots that I purchased.
  14. I am very fond of these three Master Comics. Two great covers and the 41 has the one Fawcett superhero group adventure.
  15. I have an old copy of the Buck reprints from Ed Aprill, I think. Does anyone have the pop-up book. I don't but I enjoy seeing the pictures.
  16. There is an ad for the new model U-238 in the Daisy Handbook. No Uranium was actually shipped with either gun, I think.
  17. Grandma used to save the Sunday Funnies for me and I really liked the Mac Raboy Flash Gordon Sunday pages.
  18. I found some of the records on ebay and a few comics at the flea market. Gordon bread reprints are available and pretty good stories. My first BLB was a Flash Gordon by Raymond.
  19. I've always thought the Sunday pages were spectacular for both Buck and Flash.
  20. I like the comics and the Big Big and Big LIttle books.
  21. and before the MMC 2 and Top-Notch was Amazing Man 8 which had a story about WWII and Germans which were called Nazis and vehicles with a swastika painted on the outside...... So I would say, Amazing Man was the first to join the Allies against the Axis. No pretend symbols, no mythical countries, just WWII straight from the newspapers published at the time. The guy wearing the armband on the cover of AM 9 (the following issue) appears to be a gestapo agent who is being belted by AM. I think Centaur editors and creator Bill Everett should get the credit for picking sides when Timely, MLJ and DC were too shy to admit that their stories were about the Nazi aggression in Europe.
