  1. I really like all of those Ghost Rider issues. It isn't just the Frazetta covers. It is also the work by Ayers which I really admire.
  2. I like all of those books in your group shot. I also like BB 7 and BB 8.
  3. I like all of those Marvel Mystery comics and Marvel Tales but happy with just a few. What a great group to have.
  4. I like Ed Dodd's earlier work but I read Mark Trail for years without ever seeing the Home Towners strip.
  5. Annie was pretty great when off on an adventure...
  6. the GCD says Pencils: Ayers | Inks: Ernie Bache | Letters: typeset and also by Ayers (signed this time)
  7. I don't know if anyone mentioned Bobby Benson yet but I can't let it be by passed. I think Ayers did great bizarre horror art. Some argue that it was done by Schomburg but I think that argument was put to rest by Ayers claim to credit.
  8. There should be a city in the US which honors its cartoonists the way they do in Belgium. Brussels is covered with murals of Tintin and associated characters. You can go on a walking tour to see murals in different parts of the city. I can imagine a giant Buck Rogers space ship in the town square and buildings covered with robots and Wilma.
  9. Apparently the earliest comics with Terry were Popular. If I recall they started with March 1935.
  10. Any early Buck Rogers is worth seeing. I enjoy these more than the later work by Frazetta (although both are great). I am not really sure how I got the Star Map. It could be from a reprint or posted by another Boardie.
  11. This page by Wunder isn't mine but it is in the half page format.
  12. I have some pages by Wunder that were halves but not much early Caniff. I like those Whitman Books too.
  13. I have two shelves with books in my office. The rest are in boxes or in the closet. My files are mostly on the external hard drive.
  14. You have a lot of those covers, more than me. I don't know how big the original collection was but you must remember those of us that didn't live through the golden age had never seen the covers before. I was happy to get a black and white copy of the Master Comics and Captain America covers. Fanzines didn't use a lot of Photo offset reproduction and little was known about the content of many issues because it was constantly changing. Jerry gave us photos, indexes and stories first and then identified the writers and artists. The first part still continues but identification of the artist and writers was started early before everyone became too old. Fortunately Bill Schelly has been keeping track of who did what and when, I think.
  15. I have posted copies of my pics and yours below. Note the Flash 7 has the same slant and shadow. I assume they are from the same source.
  16. My photo album contains pictures from Jerry Bails. As you probably know, he photographed most of the golden age comics that contained superhero stories. He sold these black and white copies and prepared microfilm to save the interior stories. The microfilm library is at Michigan State University. Additional microfilm that belonged to Jerry was sold on ebay several years ago. I have the early Detectives in black and white as well as early All Star comics which were photographed in color. I think your albums belonged to a collector who purchased the photographs from Jerry back in the sixties.
  17. I have one of those. I saved this album from the early sixties. I think it is 53 or 54 years old.
  18. I have always liked that cover and I did manage to find a copy. It is usually noted as a rare Fox cover but it is actually a cross-over cover with Richy the Amazing Boy, The Fox and possibly Hercules on the ramp. Unfortunately, there is nothing about all of those guys together in the interior stories.
  19. Gadzukes, you are correct...and she seemed so nice....
  20. Those later Blue Beetle covers were pretty good. I modified one in honor of BZ.
