  1. From Movie comics number 6 of course. Not my copy. Someone was selling it on ebay.
  2. I think ZI saw a $1700 bid on this one. Was that the final?
  3. Nice book and great story! Agreed. It's those kind of memories that make this hobby so special. +1 Thanks for the kind remarks! Here's one I just had to pick-up off the newsstand, if only to find out who was behind the curtain. It's a little beat up after all these years...but still a great read. mm and a nice looking story in that one.
  4. Very cool book, Mike - Japanese war cover. Cheers Steve (thumbs u But not a Fox book anymore. They covered the Fox emblem and listed owners as Holyoke. However, it is one of my favorite Blue Beetle covers.
  5. Lot of pretty funny books there, Parker. Quality, Rockford ped, nice PQ/grade & Rubimor cover. Wow! Love the Military, Modern & Police, and those Church books are da bomb, but for some crazy reason the art on this puppy really stands out. and nice interior art by Palais et al
  6. I like to match them up and show the double size of the art. Compulsive behavior...I guess. I think the golden age western comic art by Simon and Kirby is a special grail for collectors of the genre.
  7. I guess this recreation by Acerno is also worth a few bucks. I think some of the others by Baker are just as good but this one seems like a lot of work to reconstruct.
  8. Is there a Wolverton story in that Black Diamond comic? I have a few but prefer those with Bingbang Buster. from Pappy's Blog
  9. I don't have the toy figures but I do have the circus scene.
  10. Marty, this is my favorite, hands down!Up there in the top five fave all time covers and yours was the first I'd ever seen.I am always going back to stare at this one!! Jimmers This is one I might have graded...only 3 in the census. mm Did you buy Boy comics and Boy Commandos too?
  11. Love it...I have been a fan of old tin face since I read about him in Alter Ego.
  12. I LOVE this about you I am a hopeless geek I usually went shopping for comics when visiting towns like Toronto and San Francisco but took my motorcycle helmet with me when visiting Brussels. Love your books by the way.
  13. I agree on that one. I also like Bat 38 and 55.
  14. I always liked the ad. I think I saw this at the age of 8 or 9 and it was probably in an old Mad comic I got from my cousin.
  15. Superman 22 also has a satirical gremlin and Hitler story.
  16. I found this ad in my beat up copy of Superman 22. It is a pretty good comic with some nice ads. I kind of wonder about the Superman book. The art doesn't look like Shuster's work to me. Anyone have an idea who did it? Not my book and the scans were posted on ebay and other places. I was wondering whether Keaton's art was used for the pictures. It actually reminds me of Voight's work or Howard Sherman's Slam Bradley.
  17. Chad drew some early DC comics as well. Dan Gormley did Doody books and stories. I have a few pages from coloring books. He also did many of the Duck covers like FC 178.
  18. unless he is copying Billy Cloke books, I'd pick the one in the middle And not just because of that. I vote the middle one as well. (thumbs u ...and you are both correct. I sold my other copy of Boy 11, which I had owned for 30 years, to Terry and I am glad I found a complete cover to replace my old damaged copy.
  19. You can really appreciate the art when you see it in b and w.
  20. Thanks! Here's another one that just stood out on the newsstand. mm I found some nice 50 year-old copies of Weird Science. Love those Feldstein covers and Wally was pretty good too.
