  1. I know you have been collecting for a long time and I respect your opinion. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any discoloring, but using a 2 mil bag inside of the sleeves should protect against that shouldn't it?
  2. You have that right. I don't recommend anyone use them if they have had problems with them in the past. Maybe in a few years I may have the same experience that you had. But so far I haven't had any problems. I've only been using them for a couple years.
  3. If I was worried about dust I would just use a 2mil bag like skrank does. It's not my hangup to be honest. Keep the lids on your boxes and don't spill any beer over them and things will be fine.
  4. Yeah the open top doesn't bother me. Its not like there's a big gap there. I mean not much can get in unless you store them in your garage, I actually enjoy not having to deal with flaps and tape.
  5. I like the look of the 4 mil Gerber archive sleeves the best. But who doesn't like to add a new slab to there collection?
  6. Yeah you had to be there. hhahaaha ahem. Queue the Bee Gees song "I started a joke". Thanks-
  7. Yeah I call it a Marvel three-in-one. Or maybe a triple whammy. Wrong description, wrong grade and wrong book in the CGC holder. UPDATE: the seller spoiled my fun and corrected his listing. dang..
  8. I found this on eBay. I almost want to grab it before it gets away. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spider-Man-Adventures-1-CGC-9-8-1994-Marvel-Comic-NEW-Frame-/132292235691?epid=86542206&hash=item1ecd3b51ab:g:XL0AAOSwjn9ZjdW4
  9. She was his motivation to go to the comic shows, to keep working, he just lost half his heart when she passed. I know if I was in his shoes my life would feel empty. I really feel sad for him right now.
  10. I wish there was a way to delete all his books from ebays search function.
  11. That's a nice looking book with great color. Only a couple of minor ticks. I would say 9.2
  12. From what I can see I would say 5.5 maybe a 6.0 its not that bad looking.
  13. Yes, the spine. It looks like a victim of spine roll that may have flattened itself out over time. I'm not qualified to say if that could be fixed through having it pressed, but it probably wouldn't be worth the cost.
  14. "I know CGC does not follow Overstreet" Yeah they don't, so don't get your hopes up by reading Overstreets grading rules. :)
  15. Someone needs to invite this girl to the boards. She's from Monument, Colorado She's from Monument, Colorado Paige was born in Colorado but went to school in San Diego. She has a diverse range of interests beyond golf. Foremost among them is going to comic book shops. She describes herself as “a huge comic book nerd.” Her favorites are Batman and Iron Man, who she dressed up as for Halloween. Ironically, she is terrible at miniature golf and typically comes dead last when she plays with friends. She also likes rock climbing, trampolining and rock climbing. Spiranac loves comic books
  16. I've been wanting a copy of the WW ’77 SPECIAL #1. But there was no way I was paying 60 bucks for it. Sometimes patience pays off.
  17. Another childhood hero passes away. But the shows will always be here for us and our grandkids to enjoy. RIP to the not so dark knight
  18. It was a fun and entertaining movie. The main villain was a little weak but overall it had a good cast. I really enjoyed the first battle when she marches into the town inspiring the others to fight. It was a very emotional moment, maybe the dramatic music got to me. I'll be looking forward to the DVD. The 3D could have been better, I would suggest you save the extra money and watch the regular version, that's just my personal opinion of course.
