  1. Kudos to: gregreece for a few sweet Wonder Woman slabs.
  2. Very nice books indeed. But that ASM #60 is a 9.?...I 'bout got blinded by the light, to quote a Boss tune. Nevermind. I just saw what you posted at the tail end of the pics.
  3. And Jerel too! Now I know my overdue kudos go back farther than I thought. :frown: How could I forget a fella who includes in his sales threads pics of himself with his books in the soil of the earth.
  4. Some timely kudos, some long overdue kudos (and an admission that the length of this missive is obnoxiously long)... --dzminn for some stuff from a spring sales thread, including a sweet reader of TOS #41. --mazman77 for a nice, low grade ASM #121 (and a separate order of a huge ASM reader lot that I still haven't sorted through--if there's missing pages and coupons, months down the road when I get a chance to look 'em over, I'll be at your door. ). --Peter Palmer for a big lot of books too (received 'em but haven't gone through them--see above qualification ). --frankbearss for a lot of 20 modern ASMs at a very reasonable price. --bronzilla for allowing me my first experience with Fast Willie Jackson #1 and Ronald McDonald #1. --FIREFLY for a GL #18 (modern, baby, modern) and for working with me through a snafu. --cd4ever for the normal junky batch, including a Fruitman Special #1. That's right, Fruitman Special. Whaddya want to start something? --JiveTurkeyMofo for a sweet ASM #441 slab that I just had to have since it marked that fateful issue when the re-numbering was about to commence. -- Pontoon for DD #200 and a couple of latter-day Sgt. Rocks. --Comicsarefun for an ASM #121 at a nice price. --CDaBruce for a batch of ASM slabs that are adding to my white page ASM slab collection (a very sparse one at the moment, I may add ). --Spiderman-on-Tilt for some books, including an ASM #129 that I needed to complete a run of Spideys that I need to soon sell on the boards (#102-202--coming to a sales thread near you, by, hopefully, this weekend). --Wrightson fan for a couple of books, including a Hulk #400--not too terribly long before that series also got the voodoo re-numbering number put on it. --dopy02 for doing something truly bizarre and quite charitable simultaneously: in celebration of his 1,000th post, he gave away 7 comics, including free shipping and an ASM #63, 88, and 188. Who does that kind of thing? These boards are a unique place. --annihilus for sending me that Power Record (yes, a 45 RPM vinyl bad boy for all those long enough in tooth to remember the day) that was ASM #124 revisited...and brought me back to when I was 6 years old and trotting it up to the 7-Eleven for an ASM comic and a Slurpee inside of a Marvel cup. Also, annihilus tossed in another Power Record Spidey on the house. :hail: --shark for sending on an ASM #110 and LoneTree for sending on an ASM #179, so that I could add them to the #129 that Spiderman-on-Tilt sent on so that I could have the #102-202 set to soon sell here. --Chuck Gower for a triple shot of Millenium Edition madness--I now have copies to read of Action Comics #1, Detective Comics #27, and Batman #1--not to mention the Superman 3-D book tossed in as a freebie. --BustedFlush for a copy of The Comic Book Marketplace #2, where I could read about the 20-year anniversary of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide (are we at 40 now?! ) and an article on the Edgar Church / Mile High pedigree (has Chuck sold his remaining Mile Highs for 1 million yet? ). And, if I missed anyone, chime in and show your face so I can give appropriate kudos.
  5. A relatively new boardie, Spider-Slayer, has some sweet copies of ASM #97-98 for sale in the Gold/Silver/Bronze sub-forum--and at a great package price. And he directed a post at clobberintime that if he wants them, then post the (clobberintime had not posted in the thread) Obviously, there was communication going on via PM. I don't know him, but the screen name seemed familiar so I checked the Probation List and there clobberintime was (added in Nov. 2007--there on the very first page of the Probation List thread--and on the last page via the updated list :hail:). When I looked at the Probation List just minutes ago, there were a number of folks whose screen names I didn't recognize--and I thought I kinda knew the list. I think the idea of posting a list in the marketplace, as has been suggested, is a no-brainer.
  6. @ $1 Now I know you're drinking. Buying for others...but yes, the generosity is fueled by Miller Light
  7. NO WAY! I sold off issues 53 - 100 (less about 10 books that were keepers for me...basically all the good ones... ) to fund the acquisition of what I'll refer to as "little big" books (well, for me anyway ) for my set...I'll be reporting back soon...
  8. Kudos to: --FIREFLY for a sweet GL #18--packaged to survive a bomb. Thanks, Julio. --arexcrooke for a very nice Bats #242, my first Batman pedigree. Thanks, Arex.
  9. Wear your patch with pride. That was a great thread, i wonder if anyone has it archived If my memory serves me well, bhhooks22 was one of the recipients of "Yo mama" rhetoric. ::
  10. I've seriously thought about it, but I'd lose the time I could spend either here or on internet porn, and I'd really miss you guys. You'd have to top rocker Joe Walsh's 1980 platform when he made his presidential bid: a campaign promise to give every American citizen free gas and toilet paper. I hesitate, Dice, to ask what your campaign promise would entail.
  11. Both books tough in grade. White pages. One a Curator. Too much to fathom, so I'll resort to graemlins. :hail: :hail: Awesome pick-ups. :headbang:
  12. Kudos to: --cd4ever for the usual sweet junk...although it was disappointing that greggy didn't stop in for some harassment. :frown: --Annihilus for a great deal on some Marvel Team-Up and Nova readers that filled in some holes. --tigerscomics for a triple shot of sweetness at a very reasonable price: ASM #120-122--AND two of my favorite BA Spideys thrown in as freebies--#150-151.
  13. Kudos to: JiveTurkeyMoFo for a stupendous copy of ASM #149 CGC 9.6 (WP). Thank you, George, for allowing a time payment plan. When the book arrived, I was transported back to the summer of 1975 when I was an 8-year-old, and the clone saga began to mess with my poor mind. ::
  14. I didn't think anyone would buy his books, but that's not really my point. It's how he was treated. Was/is he a scammer? Possibly, I suppose. Could be legit, I really don't know. He may be unknown to many of us, but I don't think he was asked for any references. People just all around him until he had no choice but to step in it. I woke up early this morning to that thread and noticed it jumped an incredible amout, page-wise. I read each and every post () and after a while I did sense he/she was a scammer and got what was coming--and maybe he/she was even enjoying it ...BUT it could've been legit since I'm not all-knowing (my wife reminds me of this daily :smirk:).
  15. That was a great list you compiled, by the way. Congrats again on that #14 pick-up.
  16. Kudos to: --CaptainOfIndustry for a nice ASM #50 that he donated for the Isabella auction--in a package that contained a couple of very generous freebies. :hail: Thank you, Andrew. --tigerscomics for my 1st Hulk #181, a low grade, very reasonably priced specimen with a couple of very nice freebies tossed in as well. Deja vu? What's with the freebie action? Makes one want to do something like this: :headbang:
  17. Check out the Gold/Silver/Bronze sub-forum--I REALLY want to have a complete sell-through so the ASM #55 CGC 9.0 (OW) and ASM #151 CGC 9.2 (OWW) which remain are begging to be picked up at sweet prices. Good Friday special, brothers and sisters--take advantage.
