  1. Yes, I'm leaning toward a white piece of paper because, as you noted, what appears to be shadows in the shape of the object. If it is, despite it being a 9.6 (although, as I previously noted, I think it was a dead-bang 9.8 despite a tiny CB ST - CGC did not provide grading notes for the book; of course, as one knows, "comic book grading is subjective") I'll send it back for a "dreaded" mechanical error because the object simply looks ugly on the book. Edit: Wrong scan initially added to post. Correct Scan: The 9.8 does not have the aforementioned shadows.
  2. Batman 25, 10-11, 1944. CGC grade 7.5, white pages. A very nice looking 7.5 that, unfortunately, I can't find the scans for which mean that, more unfortunately, I will have to scan again at some point. Which I don't have to do. Okay, not my lowest graded but I love the cover of this comic book and it goes well with Batman 25.
  3. This is what I see on the back cover scan. Edit: None of the other 24 comics books show this on the respective back covers scans. A larger scan of "object." It strikes me as a piece of white color paper rather than a tape pull but I'm uncertain. Hopefully, when the comic books are delivered tomorrow, July 17, I'll be able to tell with the book in hand. If it is a tape pull, I submitted two copies of this issue and the other was graded 9.8. Clearly, if the comic book to which this scan belongs had a tape pull I would not have submitted it. I can't imagine any board member would waste grading, etc., fees on such for a 2022 book and many that grade to sell, unlike me who submits such books because I like the cover and they are for my personal collection, would perhaps never submit such a book.
  4. "We did not have to do this. But we did. Thus, pay us."
  5. Yes, $5 per front and back covers scans is substantial, especially for me, since like many posters I purchased a scanner many years ago to scan slabs. However, as I previously noted, it would be great to be able to save the scans CGC is taking in order to save the time of scanning my submitted comic books and magazines and solely have to scan the far too many other slabbed comic books and magazines I own as yet "unscanned" (these newfangled Modern English words).
  6. Mike, I'll just note, in a lighthearted manner despite the extremely serious nature of this issue, that NJ is never a mistake, at least for me, because I was raised there with incredibly loving parents that I love immensely and miss beyond all measure and an incredible older sister that I also love immensely.
  7. I merely inquired whether any photos of the raw comic books before and after you worked on them were available. However, as I noted I had missed (Edit) your earlier post.
  8. Are scans of the raw comic books in question available pre- and post-HR? Edit: I had missed the post where HR said that although he has photos of the comic books when submitted he will not show (Edit 2) them to not waste time. Thus, my inquiry is squished.
  9. "Sir, our attorney will promptly contact you."
  10. This is what I see on the back cover scan. Edit: None of the other 24 comics books show this on the respective back covers scans.
  11. I keep forgetting to note that there is one tiny CB ST on the lower part of the front cover. CGC will occasionally grade a comic book 9.6 for such but most often grade it 9.8 in my relatively long submission experience. Of course, the back page issue is presently unknown to me. The comic book is question is modern, from 2022.
  12. As I discussed in another thread, the scans of the comic books and I imagine magazines that one submits that CGC has commenced doing are helpful to me because upon reviewing all of them from my latest submission I noted that comic book #14 of 25 which was, as they say, a dead-bang 9.8 when I submitted it, received a 9.6 from CGC because there is what is either a roughly 1" in length vertically positioned tape pull or white piece of what appears to be paper. Of course, it could be something else. It is impossible to know what it is from the scan. The comic books are scheduled to be delivered on Monday, July 17, 2023. Hopefully, upon inspecting it in person I'll be able to clearly see what it is because sometimes even in hand you can't be certain what you are looking at.
  13. Or, ... or, ... or, ... ... ... Never mind.
  14. I love it but, in case no one else has mentioned it; you may already know; it is Barry Bostwick. However, perhaps he is often called Bostick as that is a somewhat common surname in some areas of the USA.
  15. 16. I'm also unable to save the scans from my shipped July 13 submission. I receive the message that the scans are copyrighted. That is unfortunate as it would save me the time of having to scan the front and back covers of the 25 comic books. Apparently, you get what you pay for and I have never paid for scans which, if I recall correctly, presently cost $5 per comic book. If my price quote is correct, 25 scans would have added an additional $125 to my submission cost. To repeat myself, apparently I'm cheap.
  17. Unfortunately, this situation, as even the dead realize, goes from bad to worse and, if possible, more unfortunately, it will likely get worse.
  18. 2) Delivered on Tuesday, June 20 to CGC's PO Box. 3) Received and Scheduled for Grading, Monday, July 10, 2023. 4) G/E/I, Tuesday, July 11 5) Quality Control/Finalized; then changed to "Grading/Quality Control," Shipped Thursday, July 13
  19. CGC does work the grading process in "mysterious ways."

  22. Being owed $2000 is, as they say, no laughing matter perhaps especially in this instance.
